The sequel to the story of the settlement of the American West. It follows the further adventures of characters first introduced in Horizon: An American Saga. The film was originally scheduled to be released on August 16, However, following the commercial failure of Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1 (2024), New Line Cinema has removed the sequel from its original release date, delaying it indefinitely. Chapter 2 premiered at the 81st Venice International Film Festival on September 7, 2024, with an uncertain theatrical release date. Horizon (2024) is next. I’m writing this review on behalf of a few of us small-town folks currently living in the San Pedro Valley in southern Arizona. We’re loving this series so far!! This type of story feels like home to us. I think a lot of the negative reviews for this series are from city people who probably don’t know anything about real life in the American Southwest. The rugged beauty of the Sonoran Desert is truly a sight to behold. Costner’s series tries to remind Americans of where we came from because it is more relevant now than ever in our history. It’s not about glitz and extreme entertainment. It’s about history and reality. I know most of you find both boring, but maybe you could just try looking at it from a different perspective. Don’t watch these movies like most others would. Take off your Hollywood colored glasses, bring your mind back to the real world, stop expecting extreme entertainment in everything, and just watch this story the way a real American would.
